I'm not usually a big fan of the 4th of July because fireworks freak me out a bit. But we went to a parade this morning. It was a lot of fun. We were the parade. Hundreds if not a thousand people from our neighborhood gather together just a couple blocks from our house. We all walk down this street that makes a complete circle. People come out of their homes and sit in their front yards with their friends and watch us parade around in our patriotic gear. This was our first experience with this. Come to find out, this is not the first time they've done this sort of thing. It's been said that our neighborhood has been hosting a parade for over 60 years. Here are some photos of us in the parade and with our festive decorations.
I hope you get a good laugh out of my little hat because this is one of the most humiliating things I've ever had to do.Same hat, different angle.
This is us right before the parade.
Notice the cute decorations on Addie's stroller. I took my hat off as you can see.
This is Addie all hopped up and excited about her first parade.
Dad and me walking in the parade with one of our neighbors, Hannah. She likes me.
At the end of the parade everyone gathers while the fire truck sprays water out of its big hose.
Though I like swimming, I don't like getting squirted by water. I stayed at a safe distance and watched all the kids run and dance in the cool water. Later I went over and laid in the wet grass. That's more my style.
I told you I get a little freaked out about the fireworks.
This is where I spent the majority of the evening...huddled up under the computer desk.
