7 weeks old

Addie went to her first firework show last night. We had a huge July 4th celebration at church. I didn't get to take any pictures of all that. We were too busy visiting with everyone and passing Addie around. She did great the entire evening, but was worn out by the end of it. We didn't get home until 11:30pm, but we all had a wonderful time. She slept about 7 1/2 hours last night! The longest stretch ever. I'm not sure if it was because she was so tired or if maybe she is beginning to go for longer stretches at night because the night before she slept for 6 1/2 hours. Addie's first cold

Addie has her first cold. Her nose is all stopped up. It sounds really pitiful. I took her to the doctor and luckily it is just all in her nose and she doesn't have a fever. I'm going to start putting saline drops in her nose and continue suctioning it very often. She is not happy about that, but hopefully it will help get rid of all the junk in her nose. I did find out that she weighs 10 lbs now. I couldn't believe it. She is growing so fast.

The red,white,and blue photo shoot of all the Hook grandkids didn't go so well. I eventually told Ashley to forget the camera and just go get the camcorder. It was quite an ordeal trying to get all the kids to sit still and smile for the cameras. What were we thinking??? It's very funny watching the video.

Pics from last week

Addie loved looking at her mobile the first time we put it on her bed. Her eyes would just follow the butterfly around and around.
Sometimes she dozes off while she is supposed to be having tummy time on her play mat. This is the first outfit that I can no longer snap underneath her. She is just too long.
I think she is definitely going to be a Daddy's girl.

First Sunday

Today was the first day in several weeks where I got several hours of peace and quiet to myself. Before the baby came, mom and dad went to work and I had the house to myself all day long. I didn't know how good I had it until it was gone. But today they packed the kid up and carted her off to church with them. Here is Addie and mommy before church.

Addie's 5 weeks old

I can't believe she is already 5 weeks old. It seems just like yesterday I was waiting anxiously for her to come out of my stomach. The time has gone by so fast just like everyone said it would.

My friend Shelli's little boy, Andersen, just loved holding Addie. He is getting good practice because he will be a big brother later this fall.

Addie's getting bigger

We think Addie is getting a lot bigger. She seems to be filling out a little bit.
I had to take a picture of her sleeping. It happens so little during the day. We are still working on getting better naps during the day. Thank goodness she still sleeps well at night!
So peaceful.


My in-laws think Addie looks like me, but I'm just not seeing the resemblance. She looks so much like Ashley to me. We'll see as she gets older.
